The medical world of today is a combination of the old world and modern research. Scientist are creating new cures and vaccines for more illnesses with each passing day. Even with all these advancements, many ancient methods are still very effective at preventing various diseases and even forms of cancer. One of these methods is the simple act of drinking tea.
Tea has been around for centuries and has been present in almost every culture around the world since it’s origins in China. In England, tea time and tea parties became popular daily events. In some asian cultures, tea is used in various religious and meditative rituals. One main reason for the expansion of tea around the world is both it’s taste and it’s medicinal properties. Even before modern medicine, tea was know as a healthy medical drink.
There are three main kinds of tea. Green, Black ,and White. These teas are often times the foundation for other tea drinks, such as lemon and chai. All three of these teas have a separate taste and medical properties, which include:
Green Tea: Made with steamed tea leaves, green tea has lots of antioxidants that can interfere with cancers in the bladder, breasts, lungs, stomach, and pancreas. It can also help prevent clogging in the arteries, can burn fat, and counteract oxidative stress. Green tea can also reduce the risk of certain mental diseases such as alzheimers and parkinsons.
Black Tea: Made with fermented tea leaves, black tea is the most caffeinated tea and is usually used to create many other tea products. Black tea can help protect your lungs from damage caused by smoking and reduce the risk of stroke.
White Tea: Uncured and unfermented, white tea the most potent anticancer abilities compared to more processed teas
Tea can also be mixed with other flavors and fruits such as lemon to enhance their flavor. Consuming unsweetened iced tea also holds benefits, and though it usually has some level of sugar, it contains far less than soda and other regularly consumed drinks. Drinking tea on a regular basis will help keep you healthy and makes for a delicious drink. Invite friends over for a tea party or just enjoy a cup on the front porch.
